A Small, Good Thing: Partnering With International Franchise Association to Help Women in Need

Bright Pink Agency helps women in distress

A few members of the Bright Pink Agency team recently spent a morning making a difference in the lives of women affected by personal hardships. We partnered with the International Franchise Association’s Women Franchise Network to host Breakfast for a Cause, which benefited the local nonprofit organization Women in Distress. Home Franchise Concepts, PuroClean, Venable LLC, and Bright Pink Agency proudly sponsored the event.

Ahead of the event and throughout the morning, we gathered donations to make “welcome home kits” for women transitioning out of shelters and into homes of their own. Each kit contained essential items they might need when settling into a new home, such as soap, laundry detergent, dish towels, toothbrushes, toothpaste, brushes, blankets, and more. We had an initial goal of making 30 kits, but thanks to our eager attendees and generous donors, we exceeded our number and made 50!

It is estimated that nearly one in three women will experience some form of physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime. That is why it is so important that organizations like Women In Distress exist and have the resources available to help those affected by domestic violence get back on their feet. Having these welcome home kits can make a world of difference for a woman starting on a clean slate after experiencing domestic turmoil. Our kits give them a few of the necessary items to start fresh in their new environment.

Our Bright Pink Agency team believes everyone should have access to safety and support no matter what circumstance they might have gone through, so we’re proud to have lent a hand to a worthwhile cause. We hope our efforts inspire others to join us in helping our neighbors who need extra support during difficult times. By coming together, we can make an impact!
